ABOUT ME!
ALYSSA MCDONALD is an actor, singer, and dancer based in Nyack, NY. Alyssa grew up in a very theatrical family (with her dad being a Broadway actor and her mom being a Rockette) and has always felt happiest on stage. She recently graduated with her BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Connecticut State University.
During her time at WCSU, Alyssa has had the privilege of training with industry professionals such as Tim Howard, Justin P. Cowan, Chris Bolan, Ann Gerschefski, Phillip George, and Broadway veterans John Hickok, Liz Parkinson, Scott Wise, and Mary Ann Lamb.
Educational roles at WCSU include:
Shelley in Bat Boy, Jennie Brinker in Allegro, Mollie Maggia/Opal in The Radium Girls: A Jaw Dropping New Musical, Ensemble in Head Over Heels, and Ensemble Swing in The Who's Tommy and Sweeney Todd.
Even before college, during her junior year of high school, Alyssa made great strides in the theatre world by winning Best Actress at the 2018 Roger Rees Awards and going on to compete in the 2018 Jimmy Awards (NHSMTA) at The Minskoff Theatre for her role of Doria in Smile.

ROCK OF AGES
at Forestburgh Playhouse!
Alyssa made her professional debut this summer in Forestburgh Playhouse production of ROCK OF AGES directed by Chaz Wolcott. She had the best time rocking out in the ensemble and understudying the lead role of Sherrie.
She is SO grateful that she had the opportunity to work on such a fun show with so many talented people! Sending her love to everyone involved in the production.
